Babies are the size of Naval Oranges this week.
No new appointments this week. Big event though was that my nausea finally stopped completely. So very exciting for me! If the tiredness would also end, that would be excellent.
We are starting to compile nursery ideas. It is very hard to find examples of triplet nursery set ups. For some favorite (although non triplet rooms), see http://pinterest.com/onebroodyhen/nursery-ideas/
The babies' room is painted a light greenish color that the paint guy thought looks like pistachio ice cream. I see white and coral in its future.
One appointment late next week with the Petaluma doctor.

Week 14
Babies are each about the size of a Clenched Fist.
Week 14 ended uneventfully. No doctor's appointments.
Thanks to everyone for the continuing creative triplet names!
Uncle Andy's Khloe, Kim & Kourtney are definitely a favorite.
Auntie Devin's Thing 1, Thing 2 and Thing 3 will certainly be a future Halloween costume.
We've settled on place holder names for our little peas in the pod A is Snap Pea, B is Sweet Pea and C is Sugar Pea.

Week 13: End of First Trimester!
Babies are now the size of Peaches (3 in long). Most of my clothes are quickly being packed away as they don't have a chance of fitting over me and the kiddos.
The first trimester ended with no new appointments. I am definitely eating enough to fuel our little army. (More than the minimum my nutritionist outlined and less than recommended in "the multiples bible" When You're Expecting Twins Triplets or Quads. 4,000 calories a day is slightly ridiculous in my opinion.)
We've been playing with fun temporary names to replace A, B & C and have gotten lots of great suggestions from family. It is harder than you might think to find catchy, gender-neutral triad names. Some of our favorites:

- Eenie, Meenie and Minie
- Adorable, Cute and Beautiful (Lynda - Grandmother name TBD)
- OMG: Olly, Molly and Golly (Aunt Michelle)
- Huey, Dewey and Louie (This is the go-to of a few people)

Week 12: Face Profile Pics
Babies are the size of Large Plums ( 2 1/2 inches long).
Went in for a Nuchal Translucency ultrasound today in SF. All the babies are looking good and have low chances of having down syndrome. Their heart rates were A-172, B-153 and C-161, all healthy. They were moving around a bunch during the ultrasound.
This time we were able to see clear profiles and counted that all have their proper arms, legs, stomachs, bladders... pretty neat. They could tell which babies had peed recently. Yep, I have three people peeing inside me.

C's Thumb. Kind of hard to tell what it is, but the sonographer was VERY proud
of himself for being able to get a shot like this at 12 1/2 weeks.
I'll be seeing my Petaluma doc on Friday. Then the next big deal appointment will be in 6-8 weeks for a sonogram where we might be able to tell their genders. :)

Week 11
This week the Babies are over 2 inches long. No doctor's appointment this week. I'm still not really showing too much.
Next week it is back to the specialist to have the kiddos checked for any signs of down syndrome.

Week 10: The Babies are on the Move
Babies are each the size of a Prune (1 1/2 in long).
Had my Formal Ultrasound today in Santa Rosa. The babies are MOVING! On the Ultrasound I could see Little arms and legs going all over the place and they look more like people and less like little blobs. (They're all still about half head)
Growth and heart rates (166, 168, 172) are all looking good and are all progressing right at the same rate. Doctors assign a Letter for the babies based on their position in the uterus, so they know they are looking at the same one over time.

I also met with a Nutritionist today. She said I should aim to gain 50-60 pounds during pregnancy with 36 pounds gained by week 24. This means eating 500 extra calories daily.
Next appointment will be during Week 12 with the Parinatologist, where he will measure their necks to check for signs of down syndrome.

Week 9
Babies have graduated from an embryo to a fetus and are the size of Medium Green Olives ( 1 in long). No medical appointments this week.
Cravings have been watermelon, tacos, hummus & naan. Still tired and nauseous.
Next week I have a formal ultrasound and a dietician appointment.
